Meet Dutton
Once upon a time, this little guy was known as Cobra.
Not because he was mean. Not because he was aggressive.
Because he was terrified.
At a rural Oklahoma shelter, Dutton would curl himself into the tightest little ball in the corner of his kennel and try to disappear from the world. He was so scared that shelter staff gave him the name Cobra because of the way he would coil up and hide.
But that wasn't who he really was.
After arriving at a Fairy Dogmother Rescue foster home, Dutton slowly began to realize that people could be kind, food would come every day, and he was finally safe.
This sweet boy was severely matted and covered in fleas and ticks when he arrived, so he had to receive a complete shave down. Right now he's rocking his adorable "summer sporty cut," but don't let that fool youhis beautiful fluffy coat will grow back, and he is going to be one handsome little gentleman.
The most incredible thing about Dutton isn't how cute he is.
It's watching him learn to trust.
His foster family has had him for almost two weeks, and the transformation has been amazing. The dog who once hid from the world now follows his people around the house and simply wants to be near them.
Dutton is looking for a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. He may not immediately jump into your arms, but once he feels safe, he completely melts and lets his loving personality shine through.
