Bono is a sweet, sensitive, and incredibly smart boy with the cutest little freckles on his ears and an adorable black patch around one eye that makes everyone say he looks just like Snoopy 🥹🐾

When Bono first came into his foster home at only 7 months old, he had spent much of his life crated and barely knew how to run without stumbling. Fast forward to today, and this handsome boy has completely blossomed ❤️ He now LOVES being outside, going for walks, riding in the car, and especially visiting the dog park, where he enjoys playing and socializing with other pups.

Bono is happiest when he’s close to his people. He’s affectionate, loyal, and forms deep bonds once he feels safe. He follows his foster dad everywhere, sleeps beautifully through the night, and is happiest curled up beside his humans—or sprawled out with everyone in bed like one big happy family 💤💕

This clever guy is also VERY smart! He knows commands like sit, stay, down, here, and paw, and he’s extremely food motivated, which made training fun and rewarding. He’s such a good listener that sometimes he’s almost too smart… he even knows how to open doors 😂

Bono is fully potty trained, crate trained, and does wonderfully in his crate when left alone—usually just snoozing peacefully until his people return. He’s also a “talker” and will happily let you know when he needs to go outside or wants attention 🐶

While Bono does well with dogs in public settings like the dog park, he has shown food-related guarding behaviors in the home and would likely thrive best as the only pet, where he can fully relax and feel secure. He may take a little time to warm up in a new environment due to some anxiety, but with patience, consistency, and love, he truly shines.

Bono’s ideal home is one filled with kindness, patience, and understanding—a family willing to give him the time he needs to settle in and trust. In return, they’ll get an incredibly loving, loyal, goofy companion who just wants to be safe and loved ❤️

This dog is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason.
