Meet Butterball, an 8-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier. Butterball was found alone in a yard, actively losing blood, collapsing, and gasping for air. She was rushed to the emergency vet, where her doctor worked quickly to stabilize her and uncover the cause: a ruptured mammary mass. Even more heartbreaking, she was newly postpartum. During her life-saving medical intervention, her doctor discovered she had been struggling with an elongated soft palate, which likely contributed to her fainting and difficulty breathing during such a painful and stressful ordeal.
Fast forward to today, and Butterballs story has completely changed course. Her ruptured mass was removed and the best news of all: no cancer. Shes now fully medically cleared, breathing comfortably (BOAS surgery completed too!), and officially retired from motherhood forever (spayed!).
Little Miss Butterball has shown everyone just how special she is. She loves attention, enjoys exploring on walks, and is always excited to meet new dog pals. Naps are a must and she'll happily cozy up to her bed for an afternoon snooze. Shes great with dogs of all ages and sizes, as well as kids ages 8+. She was even fostered with a cat!
crate trained (though no sep related behaviors observed so hasn't been crated) / house trained / easy on leash / SUCH A FRIGGIN LOVE!
