I've been in the shelter longer than most and my adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me.
My foster knows me better than anyone! Here's what they had to say about me during my time with them:
Hi! I'm Dallas, and I like to take things in at my own pace. I've got a gentle way about me, especially with children - I don't rush in, I just ease into things. Once I feel comfortable, though, I'll show you my playful side... and it's worth the wait!I'm the kind of dog who doesn't need to be the center of attention. I'm happy laying on my bed or stretching out in the sun outside (that might be my favorite spot). I like being near my people, just hanging out and being part of things in my own relaxed way.
I've got pretty good manners, too-if there's food around, I'll wait patiently. Walks are nice-I like to stay close and take everything in. Sometimes I pause when something new catches my attention, just to make sure I understand what's going on. I do need supervision in the backyard though, sometimes I like to dig or chew things I shouldn't.
Overall, I'm a calm, respectful, and sweet companion who's settling in more each day. If you're looking for a dog who will quietly become your buddy and then surprise you with his playful side, I might be your guy.
