Meet Canelo: The Ultimate Resilient Sweetheart!

Canelo is proof that the best things in life are worth waiting for. After spending the first 7 years of his life outside, followed by over 6 months in a crowded shelter, this amazing boy is more than ready for a stable, loving forever home.

Despite having a rough start-including a scary incident with an off-leash dog that almost cost him his life-Canelo has proven to be an absolute joy, a quick learner, and a total cuddle bug.

Canelo is a well-mannered gentleman who has thrived in a home environment.

Here is a quick look at why he's so special:
A+ House Manners: He is fully potty trained, crate trained, and can be left alone without any issues. He is not destructive at all (though like any good pittie, he does love a durable chew toy!).
Smart & Eager to Please: He already knows sit, down, stay, no, "look", up, and leave it.
Fun-Loving & Affectionate: He loves a good game of catch, but his absolute favorite thing in the world is daytime belly rubs.

Canelo used to have big, fearful feelings about other dogs after his past trauma. But with daily structure and love, his fear has transformed into pure excitement! We have been working on dog neutrality every day, and his progress is nothing short of incredible. He is a smart boy who wants to do right by his humans.

Ideal Home
Canelo would thrive in a stable, loving environment where he can continue his routine and get all the belly rubs he deserves. He'd do best as an only dog with older kids and no cats.
