Kane is a 4 year old Pit Bull who absolutely adores his people. Once he bonds with you, he is incredibly affectionate, loyal, and happiest when spending time with his favorite humans. He has quickly become completely enamored with his foster parents and loves being part of their daily routine.

Kane is completely potty trained and walks really well on a leash and enjoys getting outside with his people. He is smart, eager to learn, easily trained with positive reinforcement, and has already made great progress in his foster home.

Kane would thrive in an adult-only home with an experienced owner who understands behavior and is willing to continue building on the training and progress he has already made in the few short weeks he has been in his foster home.

He is wary of strangers, particularly when people enter the home, but he has been improving with positive reinforcement and counter-conditioning. Because of this, he is looking for a quieter home without frequent visitors, or a home committed to continuing his training. An apartment or where strangers come in close contact would not work currently for this guy.

Kane would likely do best as an only dog. He has successfully integrated with both a large male dog and a small female dog in his foster home, but introductions were done slowly by an experienced foster. Initially, he showed some resource guarding of his people toward the male dog, though he has already worked through that behavior. A home with another dog may be possible for the right experienced adopter, who is comfortable managing introductions.

Like many of Kane's responses to uncertainty, these behaviors appear to stem from insecurity, and he has shown a great ability to learn and improve when given clear guidance and structure.

He is not a match for homes with children or cats.

He is looking for someone who will give him structure, patience, and understanding while especially continuing to help him gain confidence.
