RENEE - Pit Bull Terrier and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption

Renee (A569995) has had a bit of a journey with us. She arrived as a stray, found a home, and then found herself back at the shelter when it became clear that living with cats is not her strong suit. She is a gentle and sensitive girl who really just needs someone patient enough to help her understand that she is safe and loved. Her previous adopters shared that Renee seems to be mostly potty trained as long as she is kept on a routine. She can be shy on a leash and will sometimes pancake down when she is unsure, so she needs a home that will work with her kindly and help her grow her confidence at her own pace. At the shelter, Renee has joined our rough and rowdy playgroups with both males and females. She keeps things on the softer side during play and prefers dogs who are just as submissive and gentle as she is. She ducks down when things get too wild, but she absolutely loves splashing in the kiddie pool when playgroup gets chaotic. We now know she is definitely a water dog, and it is one of the places she looks her happiest. She may not be the bravest dog in the bunch, but she is one of the sweetest.
