Meet Luke! 🐾

Luke is a 10-month-old Pit Bull puppy with a special difference — he’s deaf, we do think he may be able to partially hear in 1 ear.. But that doesn’t slow him down at all! Luke is already learning hand command signals with visual cues (similar to ASL), and he’ll come with a guide to help his new family communicate with him.

Luke is playful, affectionate, and very people-oriented. He loves playing tug-of-war, chasing balls, and cuddling with his humans. He does great with children and enjoys playing with his foster siblings. Cats are still a mystery to him, he is still trying to figure them out because he just wants to say hi!

Luke thrives on routine and positive reinforcement. Because he relies on visual communication, he’s looking for a patient adopter willing to continue his training and help him build confidence. He is a very friendly and is incredibly loving and loyal. He thrives playing with other dogs them especially if they are younger with lots of energy.

He does have some quirks — stairs and heights can be confusing for him, and he may need help getting down from furniture or out of a car — but with guidance and consistency he continues to improve every day.

Luke may not hear you call his name, but he will watch for your smile, trust you, and love you with his whole heart.
