Yarrow - Pit Bull Terrier and Rhodesian Ridgeback Dog for Adoption in Portland, Oregon

What my friends at OHS say about me:
I have been working with the Behavior and Training team here at OHS for consistency and am looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. You'll need to meet with me multiple times before taking me home.
To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.
Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
Resource Guarding: I have a history of guarding my people from other dogs.
I am still learning how to walk on leash, especially in new environments that can be overwhelming. I need verbal encouragement, patience and of course treats from you to help me!
Give me a little time to adjust and I will show you I am the biggest sweetheart.

I am eligible for the Diamond in the Ruff program, which you can learn more about here.

The type of home I'm looking for:
I would flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home. No busy neighborhoods.

I need to be the only dog in the home.
Loud noises and unpredictable movements can make me uncomfortable, I would do best in a home with calm, older children.
