My name is Howey and I am a 1-2 year old Bully mix who weighs about 45 lbs.
If you're looking for a dog with a giant heart, a goofy personality, and enough love to fill a house, then we should probably meet.
I was recently returned through no fault of my own. My family loved me very much, but they were concerned about the cats in the home. I was never aggressive toward them, but I would occasionally chase them, and because I tend to play with my entire body, they worried about the "what if" factor. The cats were there first, so everyone agreed it was best for me to find a home that better fits my personality.
Speaking of personality... I operate at exactly two speeds:
0 and 100.
There is no middle setting.
When it's time to relax, I am perfectly content to be a couch potato. Snuggles? Yes please. Hanging out with my people? Absolutely. Napping in a sunny spot? Professional level.
But when it's playtime? Buckle up.
The pitty zoomies arrive at full speed. If you've never witnessed bully breed zoomies, you're missing out. My back end somehow goes faster than my front end, which creates a hilarious, wiggly, slightly uncoordinated spectacle that never fails to make people laugh.
I absolutely LOVE people and am happiest when I'm included in the fun. Human friends are one of my favorite things in the world.
One thing my future family should know is that I can be leash reactive toward other dogs. This means I may bark, pull, and get very excited when I see dogs while out on walks. Because of this, I would do best with adopters who understand leash reactivity or are willing to learn. Training, consistency, and management can make a huge difference, but it's important to come into the adoption knowing this is something we'll need to work on together.
I am not necessarily the ideal "first dog" for someone who has never owned a dog before and isn't prepared for training. However, for someone willing to put in the work, I have so much to offer. I'm affectionate, hilarious, loyal, and full of life.
If you're looking for a dog who can be your adventure buddy, your couch companion, and your daily source of entertainment all rolled into one wiggly package, I might just be your guy.
