What we know: Single female transferred from Shelter Support Network in Oklahoma at 3 months old. Initially adopted from Tulsa Animal Services but was returned because she was not potty trained. Was pulled from the shelter and transferred to CPR to receive further veterinary care. Came with the name "Paula."

Additional medical notes:
- Sammi arrived with extremely bowed legs. After time in foster with proper nutrition, the change in her legs has been night and day. She was seen by a specialist who determined no intervention is needed at this time.
- The previous shelter's vet was only able to remove one ovary during her spay. This means she cannot get pregnant, but she still may have a heat cycle. Oklahoma vet recommended a second surgery (but said it is not crucial) during her first heat, when the ovary will be easier to find. CPR will cover this procedure at our vet, Barker Road Spay & Neuter.

From the foster: If happiness had four paws, it would look a lot like Sammi.

This sweet, social pup is always ready for her next adventure-or her next cuddle! Sammi loves meeting new people and making doggy friends, and if you sit down for even a moment, don't be surprised if she decides your lap is the perfect place to be.

One of Sammi's favorite things in the world is being outside. Whether she's exploring the yard, sniffing new scents, or rolling happily in the grass, she finds joy in every little adventure. She's still learning how to walk on a leash, but she's enthusiastic about every outing and is making great progress.

Sammi is also doing well with her potty training and continues to improve each day. Like any growing puppy, she's still figuring out which things are toys and which things aren't, so she'll need plenty of appropriate chew toys as she continues through her teething phase.

One of Sammi's front legs developed a little slower than her enthusiasm for life, but she's improving every day and doesn't let it dampen her happy, loving spirit, and certainly not her mobility. She approaches life with optimism, curiosity, and a wagging tail.

If you're looking for a friendly, affectionate puppy who will make you smile, keep you company, and remind you to appreciate the simple joys-like sunshine and soft grass-Sammi is ready to steal your heart.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
