Broo is the kind of dog who makes you wonder how anyone could ever let him go. This handsome 58-pound boy is sweet, affectionate, incredibly people-oriented, and just an all-around wonderful companion. Due to unexpected health issues, his current owner is no longer able to care for him, and Broo is looking for the family he can spend the rest of his life with.
Broo **loves people** and has absolutely zero concept of stranger danger! He greets everyone as a friend and is especially wonderful with children. He has spent time with kids ages 5–10 and has been patient, gentle, and friendly with them.
At home, Broo is an absolute dream. He is **fully house trained, non-destructive, and comfortable having free roam of the home**. He does not suffer from separation anxiety and can comfortably be left alone for approximately 4–6 hours. He doesn’t need to be crated because he has proven he can be trusted in the house.
Broo has a **medium energy level**. He enjoys playing with toys and can entertain himself, but he is equally happy curling up beside his people on the couch for some quality cuddle time. He loves being part of whatever his family is doing and then settling in for some relaxation.
He is also a very smart and **highly trainable boy**. While he has not had professional training, he already knows **sit, stay, come, paw, heel, watch me, and U-turn**. He has also learned threshold manners and waits at doors until he is invited through. He is food motivated, eager to please, and responds well to redirection.
Broo walks well on a leash and has done well during two leash introductions with female dogs. He does not currently live with other pets, so any resident dogs should have a proper meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is a good match. **Cats are unknown**, but Broo does enjoy chasing bunnies in the yard, so a cat-free home may be the safest choice.
Broo also does great in the car and at the vet and is described as a very friendly, happy-go-lucky guy.
Broo is ready for a family who wants a loyal companion who can enjoy a walk, play with a toy, learn new things, and then curl up on the couch with his favorite people.
