Meet Nova!
Nova is a beautiful brindle girl with a heart as big as her smile. At approximately 2 years old and 65 pounds, she is the perfect combination of affectionate companion and adventure buddy.
Nova absolutely loves her people and quickly forms strong bonds with her family. She is happiest when she can be near her humans, whether she's following you from room to room, checking in on you throughout the day, snuggling up for pets, or giving the occasional face lick to show her affection. If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants to be part of everything you do, Nova may be your perfect match.
This sweet girl is fully house-trained and can comfortably hold it overnight for nine or more hours. She sleeps quietly through the night and has excellent house manners. Nova also rides wonderfully in the car, settling down quickly and making a great travel companion.
Nova enjoys neighborhood walks, squeaky toys, treats, naps, and spending quality time with her favorite people. She's intelligent and eager to learn, already knowing commands such as "sit," "come here," and "no." Her foster family describes her as highly trainable and an all-around fantastic dog.
When meeting new people, Nova shines. She loves human attention and greets people politely without excessive jumping. She has also done well with gentle dogs and may enjoy having a canine companion with proper introductions and time to adjust. Barky or overly intense dogs can make her a bit nervous, so she would do best with respectful dog friends.
Like many dogs, Nova is still working on a few skills. She can be enthusiastic on leash and may pull when excited, especially if she spots squirrels, birds, or other interesting wildlife. She would benefit from continued leash training and guidance. She has also shown some mild toy guarding when she becomes attached to a favorite toy, so her future family should be willing to continue reinforcing positive habits and boundaries.
Nova is not a fan of being crated and would benefit from patient crate training if her new family plans to use one. When left in a gated room, she settles nicely after a brief period of protest and waits calmly for her people to return.
Nova's ideal home is one that will continue helping her grow and thrive while appreciating the loving, loyal dog she already is. She would make a wonderful family companion.
She does need an adult-only home.
