Bart is a 3-year-old Pit Terrier mix with a huge love for people and a playful, eager-to-please personality.

Bart came to us as a stray with a microchip that traced back to a shelter in Illinois, where he had originally been adopted. Sadly, we were not able to find the people who adopted him, so Bart is now looking for a new forever home - one that will give him the love, structure, and fresh start he deserves.

What we know about Bart is simple: he loves people. He is happiest when he is outside playing, spending time with staff, and getting attention from his favorite humans. Bart wants to be involved, wants to learn, and wants to make his people happy.

Bart does need to be the only dog in the home. He has a difficult time around other dogs, and while we do not know what experiences may have led to this, our behavior team is working hard with him to help him manage his emotions and continue making progress.

Bart may not be the right fit for every home, but for the right person, he has so much potential. He is a people-loving, eager-to-please boy who is ready for someone to believe in him and give him the chance he deserves.
