Rex P, a handsome 3-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier weighing around 80 pounds.
Rex P was found living as a stray. He was just one more black Pit Bull in a place where there are already far too many dogs just like him waiting for help. What chance did he really have of being noticed? What could make someone stop for him when so many beautiful, colorful, fluffy dogs were also begging to be saved?

He suffered outside in the unbearable heat, hungry, exhausted, and completely alone. It seemed as though luck might never turn in his direction simply because he was a large black Pit Bull. Who would choose him? Who would look into his eyes long enough to see his heart? Who would reach out a hand to a dog that so many people might simply pass by?

But sometimes, one kind soul chooses to help without looking at breed, color, size, or appearance.
Someone finally saw Rex P—not just another black dog, not just another Pit Bull, but a living soul who was suffering and desperately needed compassion.
That one act of kindness changed his life and gave him the chance he had been waiting for.
Today, Rex P is safe, but his journey is not complete. He still needs a family of his own.
Rex P is playful, energetic, and incredibly affectionate.
He loves going for walks, running around, and playing with other dogs.
He is good with children and truly enjoys being close to people.

Rex P is a big and very strong boy, so he needs an experienced owner who can confidently handle him, provide structure, continue working on his manners, and give him the exercise he needs.
Please do not let his size, color, breed, or powerful appearance make you overlook him.
Behind that impressive—and perhaps even intimidating—exterior is the sweetest, most loving, and soulful boy. Rex P has a huge heart. He wants to be loved, to belong, and to finally know that he will never again be hungry, abandoned, or forgotten.
