Star - Pit Bull Terrier Dog for Adoption in Lacon, Illinois

Our shelter pal Star enjoyed the freedom from the shelter as she attended a local event with shelter volunteers.

Star is a two-year-old pit mix. So many people ask, Whats this ones story? Well, she was taken to the shelter, swiftly dropped off, and her owner left before any information could be recorded. Star was in very bad shape with severe dermatitis and ear infections. Her medical needs have been addressed, and she is in a much better place than where she was at during intake.

Despite a rough patch in her young life, she is a social, fun dog- Great with people and other dogs. We would love for an adopter to see past her healing exterior and see the beauty from within. Being a black dog makes it difficult enough to get noticed. If you cannot adopt, please share.

The ARK does vet checks. To speed up the adoption process during open viewing hours, we encourage adopters to bring along copies of their vet records, which would include proof of spay-neuters, up-to-date on vaccines, and proof of heartworm testing and prevention for dogs.
