This handsome fellow is neutered and fully healthy! He is up to date on vaccines. He is also microchipped!

: Housebreaking - Yes! Has done great with a routine and uses a bell on the door to let you know when he has to go potty

: Crate Training - Yes! Does great in the crate and sleeps in it through the night. Can also be left free-roam in a "puppy proofed" area!

: Leash walking - Rudy has shown some fear-based reactivity to strangers and other dogs on walks including pulling, barking, and jumping. He wears a muzzle trained on walks and would benefit from continuing to work on this in a quiet neighborhood. Ideally, he would have yard!

: Dog-friendly - Yes! He loves other dogs, and finds comfort and confidence when with another dog. Rudy is very intense when first meeting dogs and it may take a little time to introduce him to a resident dog. He shares well, loves to play, and reads cues well

: Cat-friendly - Unknown, currently working on meeting the cats in his foster home!

Kid-friendly - Unknown, but would do best with older kids due to his size and exuberant personality!


Meet Rudy! A loyal best friend and protector. He lights up when you're around and will always be your biggest fan. He loves playing with toys (especially tug), playing with his canine foster sister, and being near you. His favorite thing is to hold hands!

Rudy is happy to relax on the couch with you but also enjoys activities like romping around in the snow, splashing in the kiddie pool, or a good frozen kong. He prefers to keep his circle small and is still learning how to navigate the world! He would love an adopter who can help him have positive experiences when taking on new challenges.

He's eager for the chance at his very own family and a place to call his forever home. Your heart and your home will never be empty if you adopt this gentle giant.

Rudy was DNA tested for fun and his genetic makeup includes: American Pit Bull Terrier (45.1%), Supermutt (28.2%), and German Shepherd Dog (26.7%).
