DESCRIPTION
Hi! I’m Darla! I’m around 3 years old and 37 pounds. I’m quite the petite gal! I was a little scared when I arrived to the shelter as a stray, but I’m really starting to come out of my shell now! I’m so sweet and friendly. I’m so happy to be off the streets and getting meals everyday! Yum yum. I love to play. Give me a stuffie or ball and I am good to go! I’ll even trade you my toy for a yummy treat. I already know sit and down, so I guess you could say I’m pretty smart. Since I arrived as a stray, it’s unknown how I feel about other animals or children, but the shelter does offer a Cuddle Before You Commit program to ensure I am the right fit for you! I have had positive exchanges with dogs here, so there’s a chance I could be dog friendly! Please come meet me today! **Please apply on our website at indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet. Go to the website, click on the adoption application link, enter the information and hit submit. Once you have submitted your application please visit the shelter to speak with a member of our adoption staff. You can include multiple animals you are interested in on one application. Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our FABULOUS PETS! We hope to see you soon, The IACS Adoptions Team.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The Pit Bull Terrier is a resilient and loyal breed known for its muscular build and loving nature. Originally bred for bull baiting and later dog fighting, Pit Bulls today are beloved family pets cherished for their gentle temperament and playful personality. With proper training and socialization, Pit Bull Terriers make affectionate companions that thrive on human interaction. Recognized for their strength and agility, these dogs require regular exercise and mental stimulation to channel their energy positively, reinforcing their reputation as devoted and trainable pets.
