Star arrived at the shelter emaciated, abandoned by her former owner and taken in through a cruelty case. Even in her fragile state, she greeted everyone with gentle eyes and quiet hope.

But months passed.
Six long months.

Star waited while other dogs were adopted, while her body healed, while her spirit stayed soft — even as her chances dwindled.

Her final day came.

The shelter prepared her for euthanasia. The calming needle was already placed. Abandoned by her family and now her journey ends in a back room of a loud, scary shelter.
And then everything changed.
A foster stepped in at the very last possible moment and saved her life.
Star got her second chance — and she has been shining ever since.
Now in a loving foster home, Star is thriving.
