Meet Daisy - a sweet, loving young girl who has already come so far and is ready to keep blossoming in her forever home.
At 1 year old and 54 pounds, Daisy is full of heart and gentle enthusiasm. She's easy to get out of the kennel and is always excited to head out, greeting the world with broad tail wags and a happy spirit.
On leash, Daisy walks nicely with only mild pulling at times. She takes care of business right away outside and keeps her space clean, showing great signs of being housetrained. She also does wonderfully in public, politely greeting everyone she meets and happily accepting affection. She may occasionally jump up in excitement, but she's easily redirected.
Daisy is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her people. She'll climb right into your lap for attention and follow you from room to room, just wanting to be near you. She's treat motivated, takes snacks gently, and already knows "sit." She especially enjoys higher-value goodies like a bully stick and will proudly carry it around.
In a fenced yard, Daisy really lets her playful side shine. She enjoys trotting around with a toy, rolling on her back, and entertaining herself. While she may not always be interested in balls, she loves stuffed toys and playful moments.
Daisy can be a little unsure in new situations, like getting into the car or starting a bath, but she shows just how brave she is by working through it. She may need a little help getting into the car and might freeze at first, but she settles in and rides quietly. For baths, she may be hesitant initially but does very well with patience and encouragement.
She has a gentle, curious nature and may occasionally show light, puppy-like mouthing as she explores the world, but she responds well to guidance. She has done well with older, dog-savvy children who understand typical young dog behavior.
Around other dogs, Daisy shows positive, relaxed body language with loose movements and happy tail wags. She would likely enjoy having a canine friend to play with.
Overall, Daisy is a loving, playful, and resilient young dog who is ready to continue growing with a family of her own. With her affectionate personality and sweet spirit, she's sure to make a wonderful companion.
As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.
To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
