Blue Bonnet is a squishy little potato with an adorable pink piggy nose, the sweetest baby face, and absolutely everything you could want in a puppy. At just one month old, she is already showing everyone what a people-loving little girl she is. Whether she's playing, cuddling, or simply following her humans around to see what they're doing, Blue Bonnet gravitates toward people and is happiest when she gets to be part of the fun.

Blue Bonnet is approximately one month old and currently weighs around 7 pounds. We believe she may be a Pittie mix, but with animal rescue, it is always a mystery, and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Whatever breeds came together to create this tiny girl, they gave her the perfect squishy puppy body, an irresistible little nose, and more sweetness than seems possible in such a small package.

Blue Bonnet is fostered in a home with children ages 8 and 11, and she absolutely loves being near them. She also occasionally visits places where she gets to spend time around other children, giving her even more opportunities to build positive experiences and practice her social skills. She is doing wonderfully with socialization so far and is already showing what a friendly, people-oriented puppy she is.

Her foster home also includes a cat and three adult dogs of different sizes. Blue Bonnet loves playing with the 12-week-old Chihuahua mix because the two puppies are closer in age and size. She is comfortable around the larger dogs and will even try to play with them, although their enormous size compared to her tiny body can occasionally make her a little nervous. As she continues to grow and gain confidence, these positive experiences will help her learn how to interact appropriately with dogs of all shapes and sizes.

For such a young baby, Blue Bonnet is already getting a wonderful start on her puppy basics. She is learning what a crate is and currently sleeps in hers at night. Potty training is still very much a work in progress—but at only one month old, that is completely expected! She will need an adopter who understands that accidents, repetition, patience, and consistency are all part of raising a newborn puppy.

Blue Bonnet loves toys, enjoys treats, and is at the perfect age to begin learning through positive reinforcement. Continued structure, socialization, crate training, potty training, and gentle boundaries will be incredibly important as she grows. The time and effort her adopter puts in now will help shape her into a confident, well-mannered adult dog.

Blue Bonnet is also one of the most at-risk puppies in the country simply because she was born in Texas, where the overwhelming stray population has left shelters dangerously overcrowded. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travel safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for for Canadian adopters). Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!

The adoption fee is $1200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dogs growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $ 100 to $ 1,000+ per dog.
