Meet Gracie: Your new shadow, your loyal companion Gracie's story does not start the way she deserved. She was found tied to a fence in an alley - alone, scared and clearly heartbroken. It was clear that she had been used for breeding for a long time. She then spent close to 3 months in a loud stressful shelter. At that time, she carried the weight of that experience, withdrawn and unsure of the world aroud her. But Gracie didn't stay that way. Now in foster care, her heart is healing and she is starting to shine again. The sadness is lifting, replaced by a quiet sweetness and gentle sparks of playfulness. She is discovering what it means to feel safe again. When she finds you...she sticks.
A true "Velcro Dog"
Her favorite place in the world is right next to her people. Whether you are sitting on the couch, doing chores, or moving through your day, she will be there, quietly keeping you company.
She does not ask for much, just your presence, your kindness, and a place in your heart. She will follow you anywhere, on or off leash and follows directions beautifully.
- Great with kids
- Potty trained
- Past that puppy stage (no chewing on your shoes)
- Great on and off leash (she's a slow follower and never pulls)
- Calm and respectful around horses, goats, and outdoor animals
- Shows no interest in the barn cat (indoor cats are unknown, so slow introductions would be recommended)
Her perfect home would be one where she can be the one and only dog. She tends to get jealous of the other dogs in her foster home and needs a place where she can be loved fully.
She is estimated to be around 10 years old or more but she has lots of life left and seems to be getting younger by the day. In a safe and stable environment she is demonstrating more energy, more personality, and little glimpses of joy that will only continue to grow.
Why Gracie?
Because the dogs who have been let down the most...
Love the hardest.
Gracie doesn't need a lot of maintenance. She is looking for a person. A simple life. A place where she never has to wonder if she belongs again. And if you let her, she will give you:
- Quite companionship
- Loyal love
- A constant, comforting presence at your side
Could that be you?
Gracie has already proven that she can bounce back from heartbreak. Now she just needs someone to give her the ending that she deserves.
- Come meet her.
- Sit with her.
- Let her lean into you.
You might just find that she's been waiting for you all along.
