Meet Malibu

1 year old • Mama to our Beach Litter • Sweet, gentle & learning to trust

Malibu may only be 1 year old, but she has already experienced more than a young dog should. She wasn’t dealt the best hand during her first year of life, and because of that, she can be a nervous girl when experiencing new people, places, and situations.

But Malibu’s story is just beginning. And every day, she is learning that the world can be a pretty wonderful place.

In May, Malibu delivered and lovingly raised our Beach Litter, doing an amazing job raising her babies into happy, wonderful pups. Now that her job as a mama is finished, it’s finally Malibu’s turn to find a family of her own.

Since arriving in her foster home, Malibu has been working hard to build her confidence and learn that not all people are bad. Her foster family has taken things at her pace, and she has made incredible progress! She has been going on walks, meeting new people both inside and outside her foster home, visiting pet-friendly businesses, and exploring local walking trails.

She loves car rides and enjoys short walks, which she has slowly been extending as her confidence grows. She has also been working on her leash skills and is doing very well.

Gentle and sweet — she has never shown aggression

When Malibu becomes frightened or overwhelmed, she doesn't react aggressively. Instead, she may simply sploot down and shiver until she feels safe again. She needs people who will recognize when she is nervous, give her a little time, and let her discover at her own pace that she is safe.

Malibu isn't looking for someone to change who she is. She's looking for a gentle, patient and loving family who will continue helping her build confidence, introduce her to new experiences, celebrate the little victories, and show her just how much love life can hold.

There is a happy, playful, loving girl continuing to emerge as Malibu learns to trust. With the right family beside her, we know she will continue to blossom.

Her puppies got their chance at a wonderful life. Now it's Mama Malibu's turn.

Malibu’s ’s adoption fee is $400.00. This includes completed wellness, age appropriate vaccines, and completed spay.
