PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Bronco is very affectionate and sweet, but can be shy. He walks well on leash, loves other dogs and loves to play with a stuffy. Bronco could live with another dog that matches his energy. He would do best with respectful children 12+ that can let him warm up to them. Bronco would love to show you how smart he is and how much he can learn with some positive reinforcement.

Here is what shelter staff and volunteers have to say about Bronco:
Bronco is one of the sweetest and easiest dogs we have worked with at the shelter. He can initially be shy with new people, but he warms up fairly quickly once given a little time and space. Once comfortable, he is incredibly soft, affectionate, and loving. Unfortunately, Bronco is currently urgent-listed due to kennel stress. His kennel presentation can be poor and does not accurately reflect his behavior outside of the kennel. Once a handler enters his kennel, he softens immediately. He is easy to leash and handle and is an absolute love bug who enjoys being with people. Outside of the kennel environment, Bronco has demonstrated an ability to manage significant distractions. He has participated in a large pack walk with approximately 50 other dogs and handled the
environment well. He has also successfully met new people and made canine friends. Bronco is a volunteer favorite because of how easy, gentle, and affectionate he is. We strongly believe the noisy, stressful shelter environment is contributing to his current kennel behavior and that he would benefit tremendously from placement in a rescue, foster home, or other lower-stress environment. Bronco is a very special dog whose kennel presentation simply does not show who he really is. Given a little time to decompress and the opportunity to be outside of the shelter environment, we believe he has so much potential to thrive.
