Mama Ruby Ann - Pit Bull Terrier Dog for Adoption in Carmel Hamlet, New York

Meet Mama Ruby Ann! 60 Pounds of Love, Snacks & Zero Personal Space!

If you’re looking for a dog who understands personal space, Ruby Ann would like to politely inform you that she has absolutely no idea what that is.

Ruby Ann is an approximately 4-year-old pit bull mix who firmly believes she is a lapdog. At around 60 pounds, she has absolutely no business trying to fit in your lap... and yet, that has never stopped her from trying! If you’re sitting down, congratulations! You’ve just become Ruby’s favorite piece of furniture.

This girl is a lover of snacks, naps, bones, cuddles, and being as close to her people as physically possible. She has mastered the art of turning a perfectly comfortable couch into a shared seating arrangement, whether you agreed to it or not.

But Ruby’s story hasn’t always been easy. Before coming into rescue, she was shot in South Carolina. Despite the hardships she’s faced, this sweet girl still has so much love to give. After spending her time raising her babies, it’s finally her turn to be someone’s spoiled girl.

Ruby is affectionate, food-motivated, and has experience with leash walking, crate time, and potty training. She’ll benefit from patience, consistency, and continued guidance as she adjusts to life in a home. She needs someone who will help her build good habits while giving her the time and security she deserves.

Ruby doesn’t need a mansion, a fancy wardrobe, or a personal chef (although she would absolutely like to discuss the snack situation). She just wants a safe place to nap, a good bone to chew, yummy treats, and someone who doesn’t mind sharing their personal space with a 60-pound cuddle bug.

Her babies are growing up, and now Mama Ruby Ann deserves her own happily-ever-after. If you have room in your heart — and potentially on your lap — for this oversized lovebug, she might just be your girl!
