DOWNY - Pit Bull Terrier and Whippet Dog for Adoption in Canfield, Ohio

This little bit of cotton candy sweetness is Downy! Downy is a 9 1/2 month old female Border Collie/Bully mix who is a petite little dynamo with a whole lot of love to give, and more than willing to receive it in return. Weighing in at approximately 29 pounds, Downy won't take up much space - well, except maybe for her ears. She is essentially full grown, and shouldn't get much bigger than she is. Downy is an active happy girl who is looking for an active home. She would love a place where she can really be a part of things, get plenty of walks and playtime, and snuggle with you on the couch when the day is done. She isn't a hyper dog, she's just an active youngster who can only promise to be a couch potato occasionally. She is still just a pup after all! Downy is incredibly smart and learns very quickly. She already knows how to sit like a champ and should be easy to work with and train. She loves her some treats and will work for food! Downy was a stray, which means we don't have a ton of background on her. Originally a bit on the timid side, this gorgeous chick has quickly come out of her shell after spending some important time at a foster home and learning the ropes of being a family dog. She has a decent grip on both house training and crate training, seems to be dog friendly (meet and greet is required), is a complete unknown with felines (we would be willing to show her some kitties to gauge her reaction), and is gentle enough to hang with respectful kiddos as well, though a little older is probably a little better for her considering the chaos factor that so many kids unwittingly bring to life. Might be a tad much after her rough start! Downy is just about ready for adoption and we are taking applications now.
