Caddy is a young pup with a very loving and loyal personality once he has had time to warm up to new people. At first, he can be shy, cautious, and a bit reserved in unfamiliar situations, but once he feels comfortable, he quickly bonds and prefers to stay close to his person. When he trusts you, he becomes very attached and will often want to be by your side throughout the day.
Caddy is a naturally curious puppy who is still learning boundaries in the home. Because of his curiosity, he may occasionally get into things he shouldn't, so continued supervision and puppy-proofing will be important as he adjusts to a home environment. He is still developing his understanding of routine and expectations, but he is showing a strong willingness to learn and respond to guidance.
On walks, Caddy is still gaining experience with leash skills. He is learning how to stay focused and walk appropriately on leash, and with consistency and continued training, he is expected to improve as he builds confidence outside the home. Since he is still young and new to the outside world, most of his experience has been inside a home environment.
Potty training is still in progress. Caddy is learning and making progress, but will need a consistent schedule and regular prompting to help him continue building good habits.
In a crate or exercise pen, Caddy tolerates confinement well overall. He may whine or vocalize at times to let you know he would prefer to be out, but he is able to settle with time. Continued positive reinforcement will help him feel more comfortable and secure in these spaces.
Caddy has begun learning basic cues such as “sit,” and he is highly food-motivated, which makes him very trainable and responsive to rewards-based training. He redirects easily, which is a great strength and will make continued training more successful.
When left alone, Caddy does fairly well and is able to entertain himself as needed. At this stage, he still sleeps and rests often, as is typical for a young puppy, and once he is settled, he tends to be a calm and relaxed companion with occasional bursts of puppy energy and zoomies.
Caddy has shown a generally positive and curious attitude toward cats in the home. He does not aggressively chase or display any vicious behavior; instead, he is more interested in trying to engage and make friends. He can be playful and inquisitive when he sees cats, but he is also receptive to their signals and understands when to give them space. With proper supervision and continued guidance, Caddy demonstrates good potential for living in a home with cats, especially as he continues to learn appropriate boundaries and respectful interactions.
Caddy would thrive in a home that can provide patience, structure, and consistent training as he continues learning about the world around him. With time and guidance, he has all the potential to grow into a deeply loyal and affectionate companion.
