Meet Retro!

Retro waited at the shelter from February until September 2026, making him one of its longest residents before Pitt Friends finally pulled him into rescue. Despite spending more than six months in a kennel, this sweet boy never lost his smile or his love for life.

At around 5 years old and 47 pounds, Retro is well past the puppy shenanigans. He is calm, gentle, easy to walk on a leash, and always happy to stop and smell the flowers. He has enjoyed playtime with other dogs and remains wonderfully relaxed around both people and pups. He even did beautifully when cared for by a young volunteer at an adoption event.

Retro is heartworm negative, unfailingly sweet, and known for going from calm and collected to wearing the biggest, goofiest grin. He spent far too long waiting to be noticed. Now he is ready for the family and forever home he has always deserved.

Originally bred for bull baiting and later dog fighting, Pit Bulls today are beloved family pets cherished for their gentle temperament and playful personality.
