Pit Bull Terrier Dogs Available for Adoption in Austin, Minnesota

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Travis came to the shelter on 5/2/2026 from the city pound, when his legal stray hold was finished. He's an approximately 2 to 3 year old pit bull type dog who is big and strong. He has a outgoing personality which kind of makes up for his lack of manners. He weighs around 65 pounds. We will need to get him vet checked and neutered soon and his fee is $150.

Travis will need some basic training. He knows how to "sit" and that's about it. He will need some regular exercise as he's energetic, kind of like a bull in a china shop. He's a happy guy who likes the company of people. At this time, we're not yet sure how he would do with other dogs. He is not a good fit for homes with smaller animals, like cats. We think he would be okay with kids over 8.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
