Freckles. Wiggles. A happy little hop in her step. This is Pippi Longstockings and she absolutely lives up to the name. Petite, bright-eyed, and full of spunky sweetness, she moves through the world like it’s a playground she’s just discovered.

Pippi is estimated to be about 2 years old, weighs 37 lbs, and appears to be some sort of staffie-style mix, though as always with rescue, breed and birthday are our best guess. What’s not a guess? She is a happy, medium-sized girl with energy to spare and a heart that is wide open.
On leash, she has great basics and an easy pace. She doesn’t drag you down the street and she responds nicely to correction. When she gets loved on she gets almost giddy! The energy can only be viewed as welcoming energy with wiggles for affection. She wants the love and it causes these adorable bursts of absolutely undeniable enthusiasm that will make you giggle every single time! Think confetti cannon!
With dogs, Pippi has friendly confidence but doesnt need to be everyones bestie. If the vibes are not right or her energy isnt welcome she will move on with no trouble. She plays with higher energy, zooming and engaging confidently. She did best with equally confident females and with males overall. With more submissive female dogs, she just passes on interaction.
Her play style can be bold with an equally playful, confident dog. The good news? She responds to structure. She just benefits from clear boundaries and dog friends who advocate for themselves. In other words, she isnt the best fit for a dog that is a pushover or lack the confidence to set boundaries when needed.
Crate-wise, she walks right in without fuss. Big win! She will thrive with an active family who enjoys movement, play, and a dog who greets each day like it’s a celebration. As for cats, her response was mixed and inconclusive so we would love to see her in a home setting with a cat or two to get a full understanding of her approach to a feline friend.
Pippi’s theme is simple: she isn’t big but she is, big joy, big presence, big heart but in a perfectly medium package. She is full of life and will thrive with a little guidance and the structure to channel all that happy sparkle.
If you’re looking for a freckled sidekick to keep life upbeat, active, and full of a special sparkle, Pippi is ready and waiting!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
