Rescued in the nick of time, Susu has come a long way from her start in an overcrowded shelter, where she gave birth to her seven puppies after being picked up as a stray. In foster care, she’s finally experienced the comfort and stability of a real home—and she’s learning more every day. Susu naturally feels most confident around other dogs and enjoys playing with and learning from them, but she’s steadily building trust with people too. By watching her foster siblings, she’s begun seeking out affection, following her foster mom around, offering kisses, and even climbing into her lap for snuggles.

Susu would likely thrive with a friendly, confident dog to help guide her, though she could also do well with a patient adopter committed to showing her she’s safe and loved. She’s incredibly sweet, curious, and intelligent, with a playful, silly side and ears that are impossible to ignore. Food-motivated and eager to learn, she’s already house and crate trained and gaining confidence every day. Whether it’s joining you for hikes or agility, or simply relaxing at home, Susu has the potential to be a wonderfully devoted companion. In a calm environment with consistency and love, she’s sure to continue blossoming into an amazing best friend. After fending for herself while pregnant and her stint at the shelter, her reserve is warranted, but watching it melt away with love and care has been incredible to witness.
