DESCRIPTION
Finley (A567308) is a sweet boy who just needs a little guidance to shine. He can be a bit shy at first and sometimes hesitates when you first try to leash him. Once you earn that brief moment of trust and step outside with him though, you can see the nerves begin to melt away. The loudness of our kennel area is overwhelming for many dogs and for Finley especially, it can be a lot to take in. Outdoors is where Finley feels safe enough to let his personality peek through. He walks a bit nervously on leash in the beginning but loosens up once he knows you are with him. He shows promising signs of house training as he goes as soon as he steps outside, but like any shelter pup, a consistent routine in a quiet home will help finish the job. Finley enjoys exploring our yard and taking his time sniffing every corner. A fenced space would make him happy, though it is not required. What he wants most is simply a person who understands that shy dogs do not stay shy forever. He loves gentle affection and will stand quietly by your side, soaking up every bit of reassurance and kindness offered. There is something incredibly special about the way he leans in like he is slowly learning what safety feels like. Any family would be lucky to have this sweetie. Finley is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 55 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative. Ready to meet Finley? Stop by 4950 Triana Blvd SW in Huntsville, Alabama. No appointment is necessary to meet our available animals. All adopters must be 19 years or older and be able to provide a valid ID.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The Pit Bull Terrier is a resilient and loyal breed known for its muscular build and loving nature. Originally bred for bull baiting and later dog fighting, Pit Bulls today are beloved family pets cherished for their gentle temperament and playful personality. With proper training and socialization, Pit Bull Terriers make affectionate companions that thrive on human interaction. Recognized for their strength and agility, these dogs require regular exercise and mental stimulation to channel their energy positively, reinforcing their reputation as devoted and trainable pets.
