Josie is all wiggle-butt and sweetheart! This is a dog that will always welcome you home with adoring fanfare. Picture this, you walk through the door, she is standing tall on the couch with her front paws perched on the back, tail wagging, butt wiggling, sparkle in her eye and ready for kisses. We know this scene in detail because it is exactly what her foster mama walks into each day. She explained that it is one of her favorite parts of the day. She bonds deeply with her people, and once you have her trust, you’ll have a faithful shadow who wants nothing more than to be near you.

Josie Rosie is believed to be a pittie mix approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 65 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue it’s always and we cannot guarantee breed or age.
While Josie waits for her adoption day, she is enjoying home-life and practicing all the best doggie manners and skills in a loving foster home. When I talked to her foster, she shared so much cuteness! This is what her foster mom says about her: “Josie is a sweetheart who loves pets and sleeping on the couch. Josie loves to be snuggled and loves to lay on her blankets on the couch. She is quite the couch hippo and so tolerant. You can pet her, hug her, kiss her, hold her, lay on her, pull her closer to you, she loves it all! When she is being petted or loved on and is really happy, she breathes so heavy like a dragon LOL. We say it is her version of a cat purring.
Josie is such a lover girl and needs a lot of love. She will absolutely let you know if she feels like she’s being deprived of your love or if it simply was not enough. She will start huffing and puffing at you and will roll herself onto her back until you give in. It’s quite the production. She is a silly girl that loves to roll around in the grass. She is definitely a lounger but also really enjoys leisurely walks and exploring. She is not too big on most toys and mostly loves particular chew toys. She is offended by squeaky toys and will take them and hide them LOL.” I don’t know about you, but I definitely want to give Josie a squeaky toy now to see what she does with it!
Where Josie thrives is in being the apple of your eye. A home where she can be your one-and-only dog would be her dream come true. She can be unsure with other dogs but will co-exist and grow into friendliness with a calm, confident canine companion who respects her boundaries and gives her time to settle in. But she would love to be an only pet and promises to supply the love of oh-so-many pets. Josie will also need a cat-free home and believes a game of chase is super fun. While it may be fun for her, it certainly is not fun for kitty friends.
Although Josie may be on the bigger side, she has the demeanor to live a successful apartment lifestyle. She isn’t looking to run a marathon and enjoys leisurely strolls. She would also do well in a home with a backyard where she can sunbathe, roll in the grass, and keep you company on the patio while you drink your morning coffee or garden. Josie is crate and potty trained, has wonderful house manners, and loves treats! She’ll do anything for a treat and already knows basic commands such as sit, down, wait, let’s go, and leave it.
She absolutely knows her commands… she just occasionally chooses to act like she doesn’t. It’s like she hears you, processes it, and then politely decides, “hmm… I’m going to pretend I’ve never learned that in my life.” You’ll ask for a “sit” and she’ll give you that blank, innocent stare like “I’m just a baby… what is sit?” Meanwhile, you both know she nailed it five minutes ago. She’s not being stubborn, she’s just… selectively fluent in obedience. If there’s a treat involved? Oh, suddenly she’s a straight-A student. No treat? She might need a quick reminder course. It’s all part of her charm.
At the end of the day, Josie is truly happiest when she’s with her person. Whether curled up on the couch, hopping in the car to tag along, or lounging nearby while you work or relax. She’ll need a patient adopter who can help her feel secure and build on her ever-growing confidence. The reward is a devoted, snuggly, wiggly girl who promises to greet you with love each and every day.
We are willing to test Josie with anything you need in order to ensure it’s a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
