Meet Davis

Have you ever waited so long for something that you wondered if it would ever come? That has been Davis' journey. Davis was found on the streets unable to walk and has now been with the rescue for over six years-the longest of any dog here. He has grown up at the rescue and is still patiently waiting for the loving home he deserves.

Davis is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves human companionship. Over the years, he has learned several commands, including sit, down, and paw, and he walks beautifully on a leash. In fact, he's a staff favorite for walks! Davis adores cuddles and will gently paw at you when he wants affection. He has a special way of sensing when someone needs comfort and is often the first dog people turn to on a tough day.

Davis would do best as the only pet in the home, as he is not fond of small dogs or cats. He has interacted with other dogs before, but any introductions would need to be slow and done in a calm, controlled environment. Davis can be cautious when meeting new people, but with patience and a few visits, he opens up beautifully; we've seen him form trust in as little as two to three visits.

Davis is looking for a home where someone can spend a good amount of time with him. He can experience separation anxiety and would benefit from an adopter who is home often or able to provide supervision and support when he's left alone.

Davis is a sensitive, loving soul who dreams of a quiet home, a warm bed, and a person to call his own. After years of waiting, he's ready for his forever family. Could that be you?
