Lincoln is a 30 lb Pekingese mix with a past that hasn't shown him what love from humans should feel like—yet. He came from a home where he lived among many other dogs and was used for breeding, leaving him without the chance to build positive, trusting relationships with people.

Because of this, Lincoln is understandably unsure and needs a very patient, committed person who will give him the time and space to decompress. He's not the kind of dog who will open up overnight—but with consistency, structure, and a calm environment, he will begin to feel safe.

Lincoln is also heartworm positive, so he'll need a quiet home where he can rest and recover while going through treatment. This means limited activity and a peaceful setting are essential for his healing, both physically and emotionally.

While he may be shut down right now, dogs like Lincoln have an incredible way of blossoming when given the chance. Beneath his guarded exterior is a dog who just hasn't learned how to trust yet. With the right person—someone patient, understanding, and willing to go at his pace—Lincoln has the potential to slowly come out of his shell and show you who he really is.

He's looking for a calm, structured home that will give him the time he's never had. And in return, you'll get to be the person who changes his whole world.
