Hayes is a 7-year-old chihuahua mix who weighs around 6 pounds, and while he may be a little shy at first, he's an incredibly sweet little dog who's well worth the wait. He likes to take his time getting to know new people, but once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side comes out in full force. He'll happily throw himself onto your lap for pets and quickly turns into a world-class cuddle bug.

One of Hayes' greatest joys in life is grass. Give him a soft patch to wander, sniff, or simply relax in, and you'll have one very happy little dog. He's also polite around other dogs, though big dogs getting right in his face can make him feel a little intimidated. Even then, he stays calm and simply prefers to give them some space.

Hayes is currently working on his house-training and continues to make great progress. He's also not much of a fan of the crate and would much rather be curled up next to his favorite person. He's looking for a patient adopter who will let him settle in at his own pace and give him the time he needs to build trust.
