Copper_La is a 1 year old male Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever/Mix who weighs 29 pounds.
Copper is a one-year-old, 25-pound bundle of redheaded puppy chaos, good vibes, and very short legs! This handsome Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever mix may be built closer to the ground, but he has enough energy to power a small city.
Copper is happiest when he's doing something-running around the yard, playing with his dog friends, investigating his toys, or making sure nobody has accidentally left a snack unattended. He LOVES other dogs and could happily play for hours, whether that means chasing around the yard or sharing toys. He's also been wonderfully respectful of his feline foster sibling and understands that sometimes a cat says, "Thanks, but no thanks."
And people? Copper is an equal-opportunity fan. Big people, little people-he loves them all! He may greet new friends with some enthusiastic pawing and kisses, especially the younger ones, because apparently personal space is still a concept he's studying.
Copper is crate trained and settles happily in his crate, and he's working hard on his leash skills and basic puppy manners. He's also still working on his house training. Copper is definitely not currently accepting applications to be a professional couch potato or lap dog. He'd much rather be on the floor with a toy or outside having an adventure. Maybe someday he'll discover the joys of snuggling, but for now, there are far too many toys to investigate and squirrels to keep tabs on.
If you're looking for a happy, playful, social pup who brings a whole lot of personality in a 25-pound package, Copper might be your guy. His new family should be ready for some puppy energy, continued training, and plenty of opportunities to keep this busy boy's brain and body occupied.
Copper's motto? Good vibes only.
If you'd like to take this pupper home, please fill out an adoption application at this link - https://animalalliesrescue.org/dog-application. The adoption fee is $350 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they've already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They've been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they're ready for a happy, healthy life with you!
Note that many dogs do not reach full size until they are about a year and a half old. The weight listed here is Copper_La's current weight.
