Honey - Mountain Cur Dog for Adoption in Grant, Nebraska

Honey is another one of the dogs who came to us from the heartbreaking neglect situation involving multiple dogs being kept outside in cages. They had little to no food, were covered in fleas and ticks, and were drinking from mud puddles. A game warden discovered the dogs and reached out to us for help. Honey is one of Tina’s daughters, and she definitely seems to have inherited her mom’s sweet and mellow personality.

Honey is a gentle girl who enjoys affection and has a calm, easygoing demeanor. After everything she has experienced, she is learning that people can be kind, food will always be available, and she will have a clean and comfortable place to sleep.

The best news for Honey is that she tested negative for heartworms! Several dogs from this group are currently going through months of heartworm treatment, but Honey doesn't have to wait. She is healthy, spayed, current on her vaccinations, and ready to go to her new home anytime.

Honey currently weighs 36.6 pounds, making her a nice medium-sized companion. We aren't exactly sure what breed she and the rest of the group are. Because of their history of originally coming from North Carolina, our best guess is that they may be Mountain Cur mixes.

Honey's life before coming to us wasn't easy, but that certainly hasn't stopped her from being a sweetheart. She doesn't need much—just a family to love her, a soft place to sleep, a full food bowl, and the security of knowing she will never have to go without again.
