Ellie - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Wharton, Texas

Ellie is a sweet senior gal. She is easy to love and she loves attention. We're looking for a home for Ellie where she can rest easy to live out her golden years in the comfort of a loving and nurturing home. While she is safe and loved here at our rescue facility, it can be loud and is not without it's stresses. Ellie once knew what it was like to be in a home but luck was not on her side as her owners passed away and she found herself back at a kill shelter - 3x. The staff of that shelter took a liking to her and made her their mascot and there she remained for 6 years. She became attached to the staff and found happiness in greeting the humans that came in and out of the shelter. But it still wasn't a home. As that kill shelter was shutting down it's operations, Ellie once again found her future in jeopardy. One of our rescue partners recognized her uncertain future and stepped in, that's when Ellie came to us. Since here, she has proven to be such a sweetheart. She's easy, laid back, mellow and wears a bright smile every day. We love the photos of her enjoying the grass as they display her happy, easy-going spirit. Ellie is a people's dog and prefers the company of humans over another dog. Therefore, we are looking for a home where she will be the one and only superstar. Ellie is on daily joint supplements plus a special diet to help her lose weight. She's approximated to be around 12 years old.
