Meet Mazapana!
Maz is a sweet, affectionate girl weighing around 30-40lbs. She may be a little shy at first, but once she learns to trust you, she'll want nothing more than to be by your side.
Her foster describes her as the perfect houseguest. She is fully house-trained, crate-trained, does wonderfully in the car, and has never made a mess in the house. She loves her crate and often chooses to relax in it with the door open, using it as her own little safe space.
Maz loves attention, being pet and brushed, and simply sitting close to her favourite humans. She also enjoys her daily walks, sniffing around the neighbourhood, and chasing squirrels whenever she gets the chance!
This little girl is still building her confidence in the world. She can be nervous around strangers, unfamiliar situations, and other dogs, so she'll need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. Once she feels safe, her affectionate personality really shines. She is also incredibly smart and picks up new commands quickly! Her foster is currently working on her leash manners, and she's making progress.
Maz would thrive in a calm, quiet home with someone who can help her gain confidence at her own pace. A retired person or someone with a more relaxed lifestyle could be a wonderful match, as she loves spending time with her people. A securely fenced yard would be a bonus for all her sniffing and squirrel-watching adventures!
She may do well with a calm, independent, gentle dog who respects her space and allows her to approach on her own terms. She is nervous around other dogs, so any potential canine companion would need a thoughtful, gradual introduction. Maz has not yet been tested with cats or young children.
Maz might take a little time to warm up, but the love she has to give is so worth the wait. She's looking for someone who will be patient with her, celebrate her little victories, and show her that the world isn't such a scary place after all.
