*PLEASE NOTE: We do not adopt out on a first-come/first-serve basis. Applications are accepted for a puppy and then a home check is scheduled. If there are multiple applications for a puppy, after all home checks are done, then the puppy is adopted out to the home that is the best fit for that puppy.

Hi, my name is Mona. My foster mom calls me mon ami, which is fitting because it means ‘my friend’ in French and I’m a friendly gal. Also, look at my pretty brindle coat, pretty fashionable right? I’m a really smart gal and have been learning lots with my foster family. I love to play chase and keep away with my bigger foster brother and run back and forth along the fence with the neighbor dog. I also like to follow my other calmer extra large foster sister around but she probably thinks I’m the typical pesky little sister but I don’t mind just tagging along behind her or sneaking next to her for a nap. I match energy. I’ll even occupy myself with a squeaky ball or toy if I have to play by myself but I’d gladly share if you want to toss it for me. My foster mom will sometimes call me over for a snuggle which I like, but when she insists on holding me like a baby, a girl can only relent for so long before I need to flip over for scratches behind the ears. I’m not a big fan of long car rides but maybe I’d grow out of that once I’m a little bigger or someone can sit with me.
Did I mention I’m also a pretty smart cookie? I will ask when I need to go outside, but I am also still a puppy so I don’t exactly plan too far ahead. Like any girl, I prefer a friend comes with me and tells me how pretty I am and that I’m such a good girl. My foster brother likes to chase the squirrels and bunnies away but eh, I’m not so interested so I might not mind a cat sibling.
I’m already really good at sit on command. Or if I hear a cheese wrapper, I’ll come sit by you just in case you’re sharing. I also know give paw (right) and other paw (left). If someone worked with me, I could probably be good at agility training too since I haven’t met a cement landscape edging that doesn’t double as my own personal balance beam. I like to pounce on any sky raisins (flies or bugs) in my vicinity even though my foster mom says it’s gross. I know what it means when someone asks me if I’m hungry or want a snack and I’m always ready for it. My breakfast and dinner is served in a slow feeder and/or a puzzle feeder to keep me from unladylike scarfing my food down too fast. I don’t mind, it’s kind of fun. Plus if I finish first, I try to help my foster siblings clean their plate too. I’ve been really good about only chewing toys too, so your shoes and furniture is pretty safe with me. Maybe I’m more of a smart brookie with my swirly coat and sweet face.
When I’m done with dinner and had some play time or a nice leisurely leashed walk (I don’t pull but I do sometimes meander too close and you have to watch your step), I usually get a bedtime snack on my bed in my room (crate) before falling asleep for the night. I sleep through the night as long as we skip the water for about an hour before bed. I hope you will come meet me and maybe even fall in love and take me home.

**The ADOPTION FEE for this pet is $525 which includes getting the puppy/dog up to date on rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccines, fecal test and deworming if necessary, heartworm test, spay or neuter (not including pre-surgical bloodwork) and a microchip.
