Charlie is a beautiful, affectionate young dog looking for a patient family willing to help her continue building the confidence shes already begun to develop.

Charlie was adopted as a young puppy and should have spent her first year learning that the world was a safe place. Instead, just one week after her adoption, her owner suffered a serious accident. Although Charlie eventually returned home, ongoing medical issues made it impossible to provide the socialization and consistency every puppy needs during those important early months. Through no fault of her own, Charlie missed out on experiences that help young dogs grow into confident adults.

For the past three months, Charlie has been thriving in a loving foster home where shes had stability, patience, and the opportunity to begin confidence-building training. Shes already making wonderful progress and continues to show just how much potential she has.

Charlie absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive with a confident canine companion. Shes also cat-friendly, crate trained, house trained, walks beautifully on a leash, loves car rides, and enjoys hiking, walks, and new adventures. She enjoys getting out into the world and does well meeting people outside of her home.

Where Charlie needs a little extra understanding is when new people enter what she considers her safe space. She isnt aggressive or difficult—shes simply unsure. With patience, consistency, and continued positive training, shes learning that she doesnt have to be afraid.

Charlies adopter wont be starting this journey alone. She has already begun working with a trainer, and well make sure her adopter or foster-to-adopt family has the support and guidance needed to continue helping her succeed.

Charlie would do best in a calm home without young children. Shes looking for someone who understands that trust takes time but knows how rewarding it is when that trust is earned.

Charlies siblings are all living happy, loved lives, and we know she deserves that same chance. Shes an incredibly sweet, smart young dog with so much love to give. All she needs is someone willing to believe in her.
