Oscar - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Riverdale, New Jersey

Meet Oscar!
Oscar is an estimated 1-year-old pup who we believe is a Dachshund, Chihuahua, and German Shepherd mix—a unique combination that makes him an adorable, smart, and affectionate companion! Hes on the shorter side and weighs about 20 pounds, making him the perfect size for snuggling, playing, and joining you on all of life's adventures.
Oscar is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. He forms strong bonds with his people and wants to be by their side as much as possible. Whether hes playing fetch in the yard, curling up for belly rubs, or simply following you from room to room, Oscar just loves being part of the family.
He's incredibly intelligent and eager to learn. In just a short time, Oscar has already mastered commands like sit and touch, and he's excited to keep learning. He sleeps soundly through the night in his crate and happily goes into his crate during the day when left home alone.
Oscar has been wonderful with our boys, ages 7 and 9, and has fit right into our family. We havent yet had the opportunity to see how he does with other dogs or cats.
He's also doing great with potty training! Aside from a few territory-marking incidents that are becoming less frequent, Oscar understands that outside is the place to do his business and is doing a wonderful job.
Like many young dogs, Oscar is still learning that hands aren't chew toys. We're working on redirecting his playful puppy nibbles with consistency and positive reinforcement, and he's making great progress every day.
