Zeus Brown - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Diggums is a curious guy who mostly focuses on his surroundings, showing little interest in treats or toys at this time. He's expressed friendly curiosity toward other dogs passing by, offering a soft woof to say hello.
In a quieter setting like the volunteer office, Diggums begins to warm up. He allowed all-over handling with a gentle tail wag, though his body remained a bit stiff.

Diggums may just need a little time, patience, and care to truly decompress and come out of his shell. With the right support, we believe this sweet boy has so much potential to shine.

04/18/2025; Volunteer Notes: I was in the volunteer office when a gold volunteer came in to ask for help with Diggums. She stated she was in the yard with him. She reported that initially Diggums was exploring and sniffing in the yard. She said she sat down on the bench, climbed up on the bench and was trying to get on top of her. She said she stood up and he started to get over aroused. She said he was humping her leg and she couldn't get him to release. She reported she was not comfortable bringing him in and attached his leash to the fence. I went outside and was able to get him leashed with my own leash with no issue. I held both leashes and was able to bring him inside with no issues. I stepped into the kennel and he followed me in. Leveling up to blue to due humping

04/17/2025 volunteer notes:
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Diggums was laying on his cot when I approached his kennel. I called for him, he stood up and walked to the front of the kennel. Diggums had soft eyes and his tail was neutral. I put the leash in his kennel to sniff and he moved forward. He was leashed easily and exited the kennel.

LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls moderately. Easily distracted by sniffing. Currently has a mild limp.

HANDLING :
I took Diggums outside first. He pulls moderately on leash, very focused on sniffing. He is not easily redirected from sniffing. He currently has a mild limp and seemed more comfortable walking on the grass than the gravel. He peed and pooped outside so he might be housetrained. In the run, he was focused on sniffing only. He was aloof and did not acknowledge the handler. He did not come when called and did not seem to react to the squeaker. He did not seem interested in treats. When other dogs passed the run, he seemed interested. He cried and was not easily redirected from the fence. In the volunteer office, he engaged more with the handler. He continued to be more focused on sniffing and exploring. He allowed pets all over with a mid level tail wag but stiff body. He knows sit. When we returned to the kennel, I took one step in and he joined me. I was able to remove the leash with no issue.
