DESCRIPTION

Meet Tiger G ACCT-A-264073! Tiger G was brought to ACCT on 10/5 after police received a call to pick him up as he was running loose on the street. Tiger G is not adjusting well to the shelter environment, so he needs a place where he can truly blossom and show how sweet of a boy he can be! Per staff, he has shown discomfort when it comes to young kids and would be best in a home with kids older than 15.

Behavior:
10/08/2026 Per staff: Tiger G was finally checked in today and he had 2 clips, so I wanted to make sure he got outside. I approached his kennel to find a very unhappy dog. He was hard barking, almost snarling, but I fed him some fresh pet through the kennel bars, and then he was fine. I opened the door and I was able to easily leash him. He comes out calmly, and he has very easy walking pace. Outside, we meet Dundee. Tiger was very good, even though Dundee was much more excited and barked at him. Tiger remained calmed, they got in some good sniffs, a playbow, walked nicely together, and had a cordial meet; Tiger did a great job. Tiger G relieved himself several times, so he definitely is trying to stay house trained. He knows sit, takes treats nicely, wasn't interested in any toys, but wanted time in my lap for pets. He was well mannered, and he didn't show any of the emotion like he showed when I approached this kennel. He's a handsome boy, despite his poor chopped ears. We walked up the street and he walks almost loose leash. I didn't have any issues returning him to his kennel, though I did use the clip method.

Per staff 10/8: Came running to the front of his kennel low growling and hard barking with hard eyes. Offered a treat which he took, stopped barking and growling and gave me low tail wags.

Leash Skills: When I opened the door, loose wiggly body, ears back, soft eyes. Easy to leash and came right out. Pulled towards the dog in the kennel next to him with a tense body kept moving with leash pressure. Outside pulled moderately, needed to switch to a harness due to coughing when pulling. Pulled mildly when harnessed.

Sociability: Came over when I crouched down and called to him with a loose wiggly body. Allowed and leaned into all handling with soft eyes, ears back, loose wiggly body. Sniffed around the yard when I stopped. Takes treats a little snatchy so open palm is best and knows sit.

Play: n/a Dog Interaction: Met Handsome, at the fence pulled towards him, mid tail wags, hackles raised then started barking and vocalizing while pacing the fence. Needed to use leash pressure to move him back. Did a walk along, walked with mid tail wags, looser body. Able to sniff Handsome and called it there due to his pulling.

Return to Kennel: Walked back loose wiggly body. Once in the kennels pulled towards the dogs kennel next to him, with leash pressure kept moving and went right into his kennel, leash was removed by hand. Color Level: Blue

10/05/2026 | Medical dog has a slight limp on back right leg, small cut on face, a spot of blood seen in the patrol car but now blood seen coming from mouth.

10/5/26 8:04 pm upon arrival, officers said dog was aggressive, had to use their control stick, ACA came out to get dog, still on the control stick, started growling before ACA got it out the wagon, after the dog came out the truck, it walked into the shelter with no aggression, it hesitated going into the kennel, holding back but eventually went in

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
