Meet Luther (ACCT-A-253417)! This sweet guy might start off a little shy when he's in his kennel, often found curled up in a ball on his bed, but once he steps outside, his true personality begins to shine. Luther is a gentle soul who walks nicely on a leash and already knows how to "sit"-especially if there's a tasty treat involved!

Luther is a total "leaner." He loves to stay close to his human friends, leaning his full weight against your legs or even sitting right on your feet to make sure he's getting all the pets. He has a soft, affectionate nature and is very polite when taking treats. When it's time to play, Luther picks up his toys and gives them a good shake, showing off his loose and wiggly side. If you're looking for a companion who is equal parts playful and snuggly, Luther is ready to find his forever home with you!

Behavioral Notes

06/23/2026 per staff:
Kennel Presentation: Laying on his bed in a ball, wide eyes, ears back, low tail. Eating the treats that I tossed that landed near him.

Leash Skills: Did not get up from his bed when I opened the door, able to gently leash him from his bed and he came right out and shook off. Walked pulling mildly, mid tail wags, ears back, loose body.

Sociability: Stayed nearby in the yard, would come to me when I called to him, ears back, loose body, mid tail wags, soft eyes. Allowed all handling and leaned into pets with the same body language. Sat on my feet leaning his full body weight into me while handling. Took treats very gently and knows sit!

Play: Enjoyed playing with the toys, would pick them up and shake them, loose body, mid tail wags, ears back. Allowed all handling with the toys.

Dog Interaction: n/a

Return to Kennel: Hung out in the office while his kennel was being cleaned and was taken back; needed to step in to return and used the clip method.

Steerable 4/5 with water and can. Good greetings at the fence, loose body, mid tail wags. Loose and wiggly in the yard, play bows and moving away on his own. Mingled around the yard stopping to sniff frequently. Attempted to mouth another dog and got corrected. Ran around with another dog afterwards, unsure, tail low, ears back, wider eyes.
