Meet Dusty!

This adorable bundle of fun recently came to AFRP from San Jose Animal Care Center due to their overflowing canine population! Now he's ready to find his special furever home!

Dusty is an all-around wonderful pup who is happy, friendly, confident, and always ready for his next adventure! This energetic boy loves his walks, playing with his toys, and, of course, getting plenty of cuddle time with his favorite people. Dusty is happiest when he gets to be right by your side, whether you're out exploring or relaxing at home.

One of Dusty's favorite ways to show his excitement is by spinning in circles! He has plenty of personality and is sure to keep his family smiling. Once he's had a chance to get his energy out, Dusty is more than happy to settle down for some downtime. He absolutely loves cuddling up with his people and may even sneak in a few kisses.

Dusty is incredibly confident when meeting new people and happily walks right up to strangers to ask for pets. He is also a smart boy who has already learned some basic commands, including "sit." At night, Dusty settles peacefully in his crate and has been making great progress with his house training. His adopter should be prepared to continue supporting his potty training to help him maintain that progress.

When out on leash, Dusty can be a bit grumbly toward other dogs, so his adopter should be comfortable continuing to work with him on calm, positive interactions and helping him feel more comfortable around dogs while walking. At home, Dusty would love to have a friendly dog companion with a similar energy level who can keep up with his playful side. It is currently unknown how he may be in a home with a cat. His ideal home would be with adult adopters or families with dog-savvy children over the age of six at this time.
