Wilder is a young tan and white chi mix with luminous green eyes and cute ears with floppy tips! He came in to the shelter as a stray and finds himself overwhelmed and looking for a place to hide or an escape route from the noise and bustle. With a slow approach, volunteers have been able to pick up and hold Wilder, and he is slowly warming up with consistent handling. He is housed with another small dog and has coexisted without conflict; he does not currently interact much with other small dogs during play group. Wilder is seeking a quiet, adults-only home experienced with helping shy pups gain confidence - one that will let him dictate the pace of interaction and give him space to get comfortable before making friends. A confident, respectful dog sibling may help Wilder feel comfortable, learn good dog skills, and integrate into the rhythms of his new family. Do you have the patience and compassion to help a shy pup decompress and gain confidence with positive reinforcement and gentle attention? Submit an application to meet our shy guy Wilder!
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
