Norman (Normie) is a hilarious little character with a big personality packed into one dog. He is sweet, playful, silly, affectionate, and just a little dramatic all rolled into one.
He absolutely loves attention and wants to be involved in everything you do. Whether you are washing dishes, folding laundry, or just moving around the house, he will be right there supervising like he is taking detailed notes on your routine.
He enjoys toys and will happily entertain himself by tossing them in the air, but he also loves interactive playtime with his people. He can get a little excited and has some typical puppy-like behaviors, including jumping up and occasionally nipping at fingers when seeking attention or trying to initiate play. Because of this, he would do best in a home with adults or older teens who can help redirect him appropriately and continue working on manners and boundaries (especially learning that hands are not toys).
He would thrive in a home where multiple family members are involved in his care-walks, feeding, playtime, and training-rather than bonding exclusively to just one person. He does best when he feels included and secure with his whole household.
He is:
Housebroken (about a 6-hour window)
Will use a pee pad if needed
Not currently crated in foster care
Great sleeper who curls up next to his foster mom alongside the resident cats and dogs
He is dog social and enjoys playing with small dogs, he can do good in a home with his size dogs, cats and birds.
He is also cat tolerant! He may chase if a cat runs (because apparently moving things are very exciting), but he has shown no biting or negative behavior toward cats and even sleeps next to his foster home's cats at night.
He loves running in the backyard and getting the zoomies, which are endlessly entertaining to watch.
Norman can be a little possessive of his people and may need slow, thoughtful introductions to new people and visitors. Continued leash work, confidence building, and positive introductions will help him learn that new relationships and visitors are safe and not a threat to his routine.
He is truly a mixed bag of sweet, fun, goofy, energetic, and a little jealous-all bundled into one entertaining companion.
If you are looking for a dog with personality, devotion, and endless comedic value, Norman may be your perfect match.
