Meet Gio!

Gio is the kind of dog who reminds you that some of life's best relationships are worth earning.

This handsome boy is sweet at heart, but he's understandably shy and cautious when meeting new people. Whatever his past may have held, Gio is looking for someone patient, understanding, and willing to let him move at his own pace. He's not accustomed to walking on a leash yet and will need a gentle guide to help him discover that the world isn't such a scary place after all.

The magic happens once Gio decides you're safe. That's when his true personality shines. Suddenly, the timid dog melts into a devoted companion who wants nothing more than to curl up in your lap, claim a cozy spot on the furniture, and spend his days gazing thoughtfully out the window. He's happiest just being near his person.

At the shelter, Gio has become quite the character. His favorite place in the entire building is the assistant manager's office chair, where he can often be found overseeing operations. Thanks to his dedication to workplace comfort, he's been affectionately promoted to Assistant to the Assistant Manager--a title that any Dwight Schrute fan can appreciate.

Gio isn't looking for someone perfect. He's looking for someone patient enough to let him trust, kind enough to understand his fears, and loving enough to see the incredible dog waiting underneath. For the right person, the reward will be a loyal best friend who never forgets the person who gave him a chance.

If you are interested in meeting Gio, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday, 11 am - 6 pm, Sunday 11 am-4 pm (Summer Hours).
